As of only very recently have I actually plucked up the courage to even think about seeing my GP about this, as this, doubled with anxiety troubles, have worsened. However, I want to study a nursing degree at university and go through that career path, but I’m extremely apprehensive about this as I heard that a history of taking anti-depressants can sometimes hinder certain career choices.
Does anybody have any information on this? Thanks in advance.

No, taking antidepressants will not hinder your ability to become a nurse.Talking to your GP about your depression is a good first step. You would be surprised to know that many people in many professions suffer from depression. With the help of your doctor and the right medications you will be able to cope. Also you don’t have to disclose to anyone in nursing school your medical history or reveal any medications that you are taking.Best of luck.
