Will i get into uni to study mental health nursing with offenses on my CRB check
i am in college doing my access course at the moment and will be appling in october. ihave a drink driving offence and leaving the scene of an accident in 2001, a caution for using threatening words and behaviour in 2002 and just recently got caught by cameras going through a red light, this is being dealt with through the post by summons. both offences and caution show up on my CRB. will the traffic light offence show too. there is also a record of drug addiction in my medical records from 1999, should i declare that to the uni when applying. i really need some advice. on the flip side to all that bad stuff, i have been in full time employment for 8 yrs as a support worker for people with brain injury and the criminally insane so that should go in my favour, i’ve also had no sick days since i started my present job 2 yrs ago plus my college work is very good and attendance perfect, please help as this is getting a very big worry for me. many thanks

to be honest, if they don’t ask, don’t tell them.
and I’m not too sure about the guidelines on mental health working, but I’m sure that driving offenses shouldn’t really be a problem. its usually only if you’ve been convicted of offenses that involve violence or sexual abuse that you can’t work with vulnerable people (kids, the mentally unstable, the elderly etc.)
you shouldnt worry about it, im sure it wont be a problem.
and theyll see your fully capable of the work by looking at your past employment record.
good luck with the course
