I know it sounds like I’m getting you to do my homework. But honestly, I’m not sure what to write. All I know, more or less, is that she came from a transcendental family, she served as a civil war nurse and then became a writer. I’m sure others in history have a similar background or have done either/both things. What exactly did she do that was so extraodinary and had an impact on society?

She wrote Little Women.
Food for thought- In order to understand Louisa May Alcott’s importance in History, you have got to reflect the period that she lived in. I think you are looking at her accomplishments from the perspective of a person living in 2009. What she is most famous for is her book “Little Women”. That in and of itself, may not seem important, but this book is a classic. Which is extraordinary for a women living in the time that she lived where women did not have the right to vote and were considered property even in countries that considered themselves civilized. Today, many females may have become writers, but back then, this was quite a feat. Many females even had to resort to using male pen names to get published.
