Neonatologist
Just a nurse or maybe an aid. you will be able to specialize through an internship I believe. The name of my cousin’s job is “Neonatal intensive care nurse” and she takes care of very sick babies after they are born. But I really dont’ pay much attention, so I could be totally mistaken
Neonatologist.
My aunt is a neonatologist that helps care for women that have pregnancy complications, and delivers premature babies or babies with existing or possible health problems at birth.
She also cares for them in the NICU (Neonatal intensive care unit) until they are healthy enough to go home with mom and dad, or be transfered to the regular nursery.
It can be a sad/depressing job, because of course not all of the babies make it. It can also be a very rewarding job to see the babies that you cared for grow up.
I found out a few years ago that my husband’s cousin was actually cared for by my aunt, when he was an infant.
