I am researching the nursing home dilemma. Having worked in one I have seen first hand what a nightmare they can be. If you don’t mind sharing, I would love to hear what you have to say. Please be serious about this and truthful. If you wish to e-mail me, do so by using the link. Thanks so much in advance.

Sadly, I had to put my mother in a nursing home back in 1990. When the decision was made, the primary concerned with the doctors and nurses was which nursing home would has the least amout of prejudiced people! Here my mother is terminally ill..and we STILL had to deal with racism..but it was Southern Oregon and the area is known for it
Anyway, I visited mom every day during my lunch hour and after work. There were people there who hadn’t had any visitors in more than 6 months, and the staff pretty much ignored them, too. It was so sad…they were so starved for someone to pay attention to them. So after seeing my mom, I started visiting other people, too, and I’d try to help them by letting the nurses know if the people needed anything.
Well, the nurses got mad about this and told me I was “visiting too much” and suggested I cut down to once a week because it was “making me uptight.”
Can you believe that crap? I was so angry! I think they were really upset because I knew they weren’t doing what they were supposed to be doing…and sure enough a year later, that nursing home was investigated!
My senior neighbor fell and was placed in a home by daughter after wife passed. I bought a lot of his private personal belongings Paintings a Grandfather Clock and so forth. I then returned them to him with the promise that I would get them upon his demise. Wrong. They virtually starved him and when he did pass I was never notified. When I stopped by I was told he had passed and my belongings were absent.
Hope this helps.

i visited my boyfriends mother numerous times a week in a nursing home. Thanksgiving night i came and brought her dinner, and when i got there, there was dry vomit on her and she was unconscious. She was very sick and they denied her medical help, even though she was incompetent, without a power of attorney and without a will. The next day i witnessed a nurse give her liquid morphine to relax her, and not even thirty seconds later she passed away.
I’ve worked in a nursing home for over 23 years. I could write alot here but PLEASE watch and listen to this video. It pretty well wraps it up for most nursing homes these days. It’s sad but so true!
Tou know after working there all these years (since I was 24) The most often asked question I get is “Why can’t I just die?” or Why won’t the good Lord just take me?
