I know I have to fill out the FAFSA but I want to take online classes, do I have to go into the college that I will be attending before I apply for student aid? Or do I just go ahead & fill out the FAFSA first? Can I just call the college or sign up online? I have 2 babies at home, so getting out to teh college is going to be hard for me. It’d be cool if someone could just explain the steps to me. Thanks.

You can apply to the college online if they allow you too. If not you will have to go in. But as far as the financial aid you can apply for that before you apply to the college just make sure that you have their financial aid code
What you would need to do first is call the college and tell them you are applying for your FAFSA online (www.fafsa.ed.gov) and need their school code. You ought to call them first because you have to put that code in online. Also, be sure to have your tax forms together when you fill it out because it’s a pain in the butt to have to stop what you’re doing to look for them. Good luck!
