I am trying to get into the field of nursing and will begin taking courses required as prerequisites for nursing school. I have no experience and no education in nursing, just a B.A. in psychology. What can I do right now? All the internships I have looked at require some nursing education/enrollment in nursing school and clinical experience to qualify. Any suggestions?

Nursing is a great career, and many people aspire to it. I was thinking about nursing myself, and secured some great instruction from the resource in the box below, which aided me well. They have assistance on other jobs too.
you can get all the answers from allnurses.com. my husband gained a lot of answers and information from this website before and after he got his rn.
good luck!
Become a CNA. If you can handle the dirty, back breaking work, you can handle being a nurse.
Best of luck.
you join any private clinic or hospital and work on there for some time when atleast 6 months after that u apply anywhere when u have an experience u are in demmand
You can’t get actual nursing experience without being a nurse. There is no other job you can be qualified to do that does the same duties of a nurse. Even a Nursing Assistant only does a handful of the tasks a nurse does, and they do all the “unskilled” tasks.
You don’t need experience or education, that is what your nursing program is for. You will learn everything you need. One helpful suggestion however if you have a BA in psychology is to look into getting a job in a mental health facility as a behavioral health associate or something similar. They partner with the RNs and learn certain assessments, etc. There is a large psych component to nursing and your education there will be more valuable than you realize.
