I graduated nursing school in Dec of 2009. I took my boards in April and failed. I am retaking my boards in early June. If I pass in June will I have a problem finging a nursing job since I have not been doing anything nursing wise in 6 months? Will the emplyer ask me why I am applying for a job in June/July since I graduated in December? Will that gap keep me from not getting a job? Just concerned, Thank you!!

CNA? RN? Maybe.
In NY an RN can own and operate a nursing home.
Can you say that you were taking some time off after (stressful) nursing school? Have you considered applying for a student nurse position? You can do this as a graduate nurse and then when you pass your boards, typically your position converts to a licensed position. At least that was the way it was when I graduated.
this is how you do it, volunteer, in a nursing home, hospital anywhere that is related to your health care
it looks very good to the Human Resources
The gap won’t hurt you. You could just say you were taking a break after graduation – but – they will know when your license was issued so they will know you that it is more likely that you weren’t working because you weren’t licensed. It doesn’t matter though, don’t worry about it.
