nurse filed i-140. retrogression. should i go back to my contry? or should i stay because i am 245i illegible.

i am a nurse who is being sponsored by a health care facility. They filed an i-140 for me. My i-94 will expire this september. I am also a 245i illegible or i have the priviledge to claim a petition though i am out of status because of a prior petition from my grandfather. I just have to pay 1,000 dollars as a penalty.

Here are my questions: ( i need personal opinions and expert advice.. hence, everybody is welcome to answer)

1. Should i go home though there are humors that the visa are coming out soon? I heard that I cant come back or enter the US in short time or less than a year? I have a multiple visa – is that true?

2. Can I change my status to sudent visa even if i have applied for an i-140 to prolong my stay?
