It really isn’t clear how your nursing education affects your permanent residence/Green Card status. If you are a nurse and you are studying here in the US, and you are on a student visa, you will need get another visa in order to be able to stay in the US. You future employer can go ahead, request a visa for you and you will just have to make arrangements to get a new visa. If you are here in the US and you are able to get a green card, your education doesn’t matter at all. If you are able to apply for a Green Card, you apply, fill-out the paperwork and make sure everything is in fine shape.
I am failing to understand why on earth you would concern yourself over the issue of your nursing degree. If you are here in the country, your educational level does not matter as long as you area law abiding resident. When you apply for permanent residence status, you are not required to show that you are a student, just that you have the means to support yourself and that you are a person with good moral fiber. Just contact the Departmnt of Homeland Security and ask them your questions about getting a Green Card so that you will be able to apply for it as soon as possible.
