My husband is in the military and I have a bachelor’s degree in criminology and a minor in sociology. I always find it very difficult to find employment after we relocate every 2-3 years. I have been looking into getting an associates degree in nursing, due to the fact that it is a job that is always in demand no matter where we get stationed. I was wondering if people think it is worth doing since I already have a bachelor’s degree or what other advice I could get on the subject.

If you are interested in nursing, go for it. People seldom complain that they have too much education, but often complain that they have too little. After you get an associate degree in nursing, you may decide to get a bachelors degree to become an RN, or a masters to progress to hospital administration.
You can earn a BSN in about the same amount of time as it would take to earn the ADN, so I would look for what they call an “accelerated BSN” or a “post baccalaureate BSN” for people like yourself who already hold a bachelor’s degree in another field. You’d take a couple of pre-req science courses in biology, chemistry, and anatomy & physiology, then you would only need the nursing core courses to earn the BSN, it would be about 2-3 years total, perhaps even a little shorter.
