I am entering a very intense nursing program while maintaining my household which only includes me but I have no one I can depend on financially…Is it possible for me to maintain fulltime employment while attending nursing school?

Hi. Good for you for pursuing this career!
Well, I don’t know if it is possible or not. I do think it will be very, very difficult….but I am not saying that it’s impossible.
From your post, I see that you are financially on your own. Do you know of the national nursing shortage in this country? I’m sure you do. Because of this critical shortage, many states are offering incentives for students to pursue nursing as a career. Please explore EVERY option out there for you. Here is a link to the Johnson and Johnson website. They also have scholarships.
Go into your college’s financial aid office and speak with them. If you don’t get anywhere with one person….keep hounding them!! Search online for scholarships. I know here in Michigan we have opportunities for scholarships from our state because of the critical nursing shortage.
Good luck to you. Again, it’s NOT impossible…..but it will be very, very difficult to work full-time and also have time for classes and studying. Here is the link:
