I am an RN here in Manila. I am planning to take the nclex-rn first then later the cgfns. I learned that the cgfns is the determining factor of passing the nclex-rn . is this reliable info? then, which exam is harder?

I have a friend from the Philippines. She passed the CGFNS in her country then got hired by a US hospital and had her plane ticket paid for to come here. She was able to start working for less salary while she was in training, then took the NCLEX about four months after arriving in the US. The NCLEX is the most important test, along with the English test, as someone mentioned. The best thing to do is to find out what will be required by your employer and the state where you want to work. Also, I believe it is very common for Filipino nurses, and nurses from anywhere, to pass the CGFNS but then fail the NCLEX. I believe that nurses from the Phils. find the NCLEX harder than the CGFNS. It is very important and beneficial to review for the exams(review classes if possible) and to be well prepared to pass. Good luck.
