I have to come up with a topic for my history class – post civil war to present. My major is nursing so would like to do something related to medicine. Any ideas?

Do it on US false flag operations since the civil war. This is when covert operations are used to make it seem like some one else is doing the crime. Its very interesting, usual and under-reported topic and ends up in war so I’m sure you’d get an A+ for this one.
Some notable examples:
Sinking of the Lusitania. (WWI)
The Gulf of Tonkin (Viet Nam)
The Coup in Iran:
“In 1953, the U.S. and British-orchestrated Operation Ajax used “false-flag” and propaganda operations against the democratically elected leader of Iran, Mohammed Mosaddeq. Information regarding the CIA-sponsored coup d’etat has been largely declassified and is available in the CIA archives.”
And many more!
