Character Analysis
Mercutio and Benvolio two character from the play The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by Willaim Shakespear. The two qualities written about in this paper is their sense of humor and wether or not there fighter or peacekeepers.
The first character is Mercutio. Mercutio is quite a humorous character. “Nay, I’ll conjure too. Rome! Humors! Madman! Passion! Lover!” (II.i.7-8). This line was spoken by Mercutio while seeking out his beloved friend Romeo near the Capulets Orchard. The line show how Mercutio will take any chance he is given to make a joke at anything. “Farewell, ancient lady. Farewell.” (II.iv.146). In this line Mercutio is once again using humor to tease the elderly nurse as she comes to speak with Romeo.
One of Mercutio’s other qualities is his bravery and how he is so eager to fight. “Tybalt, you rat catcher, will you walk?”(III.i.76). Mercutio can not seem to pass up a fight especially up against a Capulet. He is a brave character always willing to put his life on the line for some type of entrainment, and never caring about whether or not he will die…
Next Character is Benvolio, he is quite a serious character not very fond of making jokes at anyone’s expense. “And if he hear thee, thou wilt anger him.” (II.i.22). Even thought Mercutio is joking about Romeo whe he leaves them after the party Benvolio does not even care to join Mercutio to make a joke at young Romeo. He is a very compassionate character completely unwilling to hurt those around him.
Another redeeming quality of Benvolio’s is he would rather keep the peace. “Part fools! You know not what you do.”(I.i.64-65). Benvolio would rather keep the peace than fight a Capulet. He is also brave. To put him self in position where he can be easily killed.
Both characters Mercutio and Benvolio are quiet diffrent
(now will you please give me a few IDEAS on how to conclude the paper? please!!!)

This is actually a really good paper. Do you have to write down what pages they talked on? Are you in college? Hmm writing conclusions isn’t my best quality either. I thought when you wrote “Both characters Mercutio and Benvolia are quite different” and then Maybe something like:
“Both characters mercutio and benvolio are quite different and yet the same it some ways like the bravery. Their characters complement eachother well which makes them facinating. Shakespear wrote them this way for a reason perhaps but all the same in which he really plays in and makes all his characters very stunning and real.
Maybe like that you could add/change it up. sorry thats the best i could think of hope this helps=) and goood luckk!!
