Hi
I think 2 years and your degree will qualify you to enter a PA program start with your local state college.
Most PA programs are 2 years in length when you have the proper prerequisites to enter the program. A four or five year program is usually reserved for those who are just entering college-level academia.
If you allow me to assume, I think you may be well on your way to getting a Physician Assistant degree. But I also I think a logical starting point for you is:
1. Decide whether having a PA or Nurse Practitioner degree is best for you.
2. Look at various schools and see what prerequisites are required to gain admission. With your nursing degree, you probably are only a few shy of meeting the basic requirements.
3. Develop a plan and understand that both types of programs are competitive in nature and admission is not always guaranteed.
One last item, it is “Physician Assistant,” not “Physician’s Assistant”. I know of one program that will disregard applications when people make this mistake on their application. Good luck and I hope this helps.
