i am attending a 2 year community college and just started fasfa in fall 08 and am still using it now in spring 09. before i got student aid, i had previously obtained 67 credits on my own. when i hit 90 total credits will i be cut off from student aid even if i paid the first 67 credits out of my own pocket?

no if your grades are good you should still have hope and if you paid out of pocket it will should last longer than most
Yes, you are correct. When you hit the 90 credits your aid will be cut off at a 2 year community college. No matter how you paid for your first 67 credits.
If you transfer to a 4 year university, the “ceiling” to be cut off is higher (usually about 180 credits). So, transfer to a university and make sure you complete your degree program before you hit the 180 (total combined) credits cutoff or save some money to pay for that last semester or two on your own.
