My school had a listed NCLEX pass rate of 98% (with graduating classes averaging 120-160 students).
I won’t lie – it isn’t an easy test. But if you work hard, study hard, and properly prepare yourself for the format you’ll be fine. You don’t necessarily need to take a $400 study prep course, either. Just buy a variety of study guides which offer comprehensive sample tests, and set a goal of answering at least 1500 questions and reading every answer rationale.
When taking the test, follow basic test strategies like learning to prioritize, weeding out the wrong answers, carefully reading the question to see exactly what they are asking, etc. You don’t always need to know the answer in order to be able to figure it out just by reading things carefully.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to become a nurse.
