Okay your BA degree you can use or transfer some of your credits over to the Nursing program different colleges require different courses to be taken. If you go to your local hospital that you want to work at they could give you a scholarship if you agree to work for them 2 to 7 years after you graduate. I plan to use some of the credits I got in Medical Assisting degree so I can go to community college and for the 2 year or associate degree which won’t cost to much I think less than $14,000 for all the courses needed which I could try to get grants, or sign something with a hospital and have them pay all expenses, or get students loans.
Search for accelerated BSN programs in your area. These programs will transfer in all of your previous coursework and, upon completion of their program, issue you a second bachelors degree (Bachelor of Science in Nursing). You will need the following prerequisites, however:
Biology with lab 1year
Chemistry with lab 1 year
Microbiology with lab
Anatomy and Physiology with lab 1 year
Statistics (Psych Research Stats should do)
General Psych
Developmental Psych
Intro to Sociology
Good Luck
I think it’s different requirements depending on the state you’re in. I have my RN/BSN. My good friend had a BS degree in Health Education (I think that’s what it was) and she was accepted right into the nursing program at our school. She just took two years of straight nursing classes and was done. Her goal is to perform nutritional education as an advanced practice nurse.
It depends on what your other degree was in. I would think you prob. wouldn’t need too many classes to get admitted right into a nursing program.
Good luck!
