Because I already started filling it out and I didn’t register for a student aid pin. Oh yea and also there is this question on FAFSA that I don’t understand, it says: Are you registered with Selective Service?
I have no idea what that means. My brother said it has to do with the war but I didn’t believe him. Thanks.

You’ll be given the opportunity to register for a PIN when you finish the FAFSA. It’s how you sign it electronically; there should be a button that says “Don’t have a PIN? Click here” or something along those lines and it’ll take you through the process. Remember that PIN once you’ve registered it; you’ll need it every time you fill out the FAFSA. Write it down somewhere safe or keep a note in your phone or something.
Your brother is right; the Selective Service is an independent service responsible for implementing a military draft. Should the US need to reinstate the draft and force able-bodied young men (and potentially women but that’s a whole other can of worms) to enlist, they would start with the people in the Selective Service database. If you’re in your high school’s JROTC or have ever given personal information to a military recruiter, you might be registered.
