i’ve been employed by my boss for 4.5 years. a new dental nurse just started and is being paid more than me. we do exactly the same job but i have more experience and qualifications is this legal?

yes it is, maybe she experience and qualifications than you think, also discussing wages with another employee is a quick way to become unemployed

yes its legal!! All pay & contracts conditions are negotiable I would suggest you still down with your employer and discuss a pay review. Have you ever had this or even mentioned it before. If you have performed well in your duties & are committed to your employer I am sure that they will take it on board & if they don’t they should back it up with reasons etc however there is an onus on your employer to review it on occasion a gentle reminder wouldn’t go astray but make sure you do it in a positive manor using your experience & commitment etc
