hi. i am an eager student who wants to be a Nurse in a future.
i’m really curious about becoming a Nurse, like how long do you have to study to become a nurse?
i really don’t get each types of nursing programs, like what they do?
1. Employment servies ( how long do you have to study for this? )
2. surgical, medical in a hospital ( how long do you have to study for this? )
3. home nursing.. ( how long do you have to study for this? )
You need to become a RN or an LVN first for any of these jobs. All nursing specialties are on the job training after you graduate. You will rotate through many of these areas in nursing school. ALl nurses go to school for either a bachelors (4 years) in nursing or an associates in nursing (2 years + prereqs). Both become RNs when they pass the NCLEX exam. So the study time is the same for all. An LVN goes to a vocational school for 1 year. Look into getting accepted to a nursing school & they will have info for you about their specific requirements.
well, here in canada..
i just finished my schooling to become an LPN – licensed practical nurse.
it took me a full year of going to school m-f, 7:30-12:30.
surgical/medical wards here in the hospitals are classified under “acute” care. you don’t need additional training/studying in order to work in those wards.
it’s an amazing career; i’m only 19, and it has already changed my life for the better .. good luck!
