You already know the history of nursing because it is the beginning of the nursing course. What they want to know is that, if, after knowing this history you are prepared to continue the “tradition” of the career.
It is sacrifice, love and care for your patient, honesty, long hours of hard work, humility, dedication and courage. They want to know that you have the “drive” and are not scare to take the challenge ahead of you. It is not the “money”, (even thou it pays very well to an RN) it is your willingness and desire to help others.
(Advice: never talk about money to your teachers if you want a good grade.)

I accept the challenges and dedication that its required of a nurse . As a student, I understand the sacrifice, the love and care for the patient, the honesty, the long hours of hard work, the humility and the courage that these women had that made this the most outstanding profession in the world.
