can you get financial aid/student loans as an international student?

Im planning on applying to University of Melbourne and I was wondering is it possible for me to get financial aid or student loans. I am applying as an international student from the US. also this is for next year.

And can someone please explain the concept of student loans briefly please?

    FAFSA is only available for certain foreign schools. Search the list at the link in sources, the 50 states are mixed in with the countries, alphabetically. If your school isn’t on that list, you will need to get privte loans.
