I’m a high school senior who will be submitting applications soon. My mother has suggested that I apply for financial aid. I was going to do it until I was struck by sudden feeling of guilt. I didn’t do it because I though that because my parents make over a hundred thousand dollars a year (I don’t know the exact number) and the economic crisis has not affected us that if I applied for financial aid that I would be stealing money from poor kids. Can you apply for federal student aid if your parents make a lot of money? I’m just wondering.

Yes you can apply for financial aid through FAFSA. The odds are slim to none that you will be given a grant based on your parents income but you will be granted student loans.
