I have been nursing my newborn son for two weeks now. Everything is going well but I want to know if anyone uses a sling to nurse baby in public? Please recommend a sling that I can use for nursing in public and if you can provide a link that would be great. I have two children so one that is easy to use would be best. Also how do you go about nursing in public? What is easy for you?

I use the peanut shell.

And for breastfeeding in public, since I don’t like showing anything, I use the hooter hiders. You don’t have to worry about anyone giving you dirty looks for doing something so natural.. and it makes you more comfortable and gives you and the baby privacy.

Personally I can’t wear slings because of back problems, I use a wrap. Wraps are much more versatile in my opinion. In any case there are a tonne of videos here, I have only looked at the wrap ones but maybe they have what you are looking for:

i didnt use a sling, i would just sit down and cradle him whilst i fed him.

good luck.
i have a 4 month old and she has lived in a nojo sling. babies r us. i also have a newnativebaby.com sling. you order it by your measurements. i like this one whem mine get a little older. as far as nursing in public – glamourmom.com has nursing tanks and tops. i have tried a few different ones and these are the best. they have long ones that keep your stomach covered and my tops usually cover the top of me when lifted up. i am pretty modest and totally comfortable with these. they are the best baby thing i have found. they work as a bra. i wear them 24/7. good luck.
I also have a peanut shell. I LOVE this sling because you don’t have to tie it or adjust it at all before you slip in on. It is so quick and easy to use! I also have an toddler, so I was looking for speed and convince http://www.goo-ga.com/shop/all/blue_couture
I wear a nursing top so I don’t have to expose any skin when I am nursing my son. You may find it is also nice to have a light blanket to keep curious older ladies from “having a peek” at the baby lol.
Ok I don’t know how a sling will work cause it wrap around u not really allow you to remove your breast without having to lift your whole shirt. but the best way to breast feeding in public I have found is in the begging to go to places that have a nursing area tell you get comfortable then just using blanket, sheets and thing like that will help and keeping your going out light and easy.
I love my Maya Wrap. It is VERY easy to use, and you can carry up to 35 pounds, so my very large three-year-old just barely outgrew it. She didn’t like to ride in it much anymore, but my son (17 months and 30 pounds) still rides in it from time to time. Your baby will most likely outgrow it mentally before physically. It is VERY easy to use, and not bulky at all. It has a “tail” that can be used to drape over your baby while nursing for added discretion. Here is their website:

Here’s another very popular carrier, but I’m not sure how easy it is to nurse in:

Baby carriers are pretty expensive if you don’t know exactly what you want and what will work for you. I know; I bought about six different kinds before finding the one that worked for me, and I didn’t get my money back for the other five. There is an organization called “Nine In Nine Out” that holds free classes where you can bring your baby and a carrier (if you have one) and they will show you how to use it. They also bring an assortment of carriers, slings, and wraps and let you try them out to see what best works for you. I highly recommend finding the group in your area and finding out if they are holding classes nearby that you could attend. They’re free and I wish I’d known about them a long time ago! I put a link below to find the group near you.
It takes a bit of practice to learn how to nurse in a sling or carrier, but it can be a handy skill!
