My Dad doesn’t like to give out things such as his Social Sercuity Number online, and as far as I know, the application for student aid asks the parents’ SSN. Can’t I apply for student aid by paper form, if so how? This is the first thing for college I’ve done (well trying to do) period.

Go to you councilors office or the public library and they have the paper forms.
You can mail it in.
Your school or on ther site somewhere they have a printable version.
As others have mentioned, there is a paper form. However, I HIGHLY recommend doing it online.
1. It is MUCH faster
2. The instructions are clear
Also, it is very secure. Just make sure not to do it on any publicly shared computers, and ALWAYS LOG OUT. Make sure your computer has basic security measures (firewall, anti-virus, etc). Overall, it is a secure process.
Note: Make sure that you do the form on the correct website (http://www.fafsa.ed.gov). It MUST end in .gov. Otherwise, it is not the real thing.
Something like 80% of the paper applications are not filled out correctly. The website has “self checks” it takes into consideration when filling out your form. If certain questions don’t apply to your family it will automatically skip them and keep you from entering in information they know is wrong.
If you have never filled out a fafsa before, chances of your fafsa being rejected because of errors is very high. Not only will this make it more difficult on you, but it will delay you getting aid.
If your dad is worried about giving info out online, you could have him talk to the college or your high school counselor. The website is very safe and it has been up and running for almost 10 years with no problems what so ever.
Good luck.
PS: here is the worksheet, you could print it out and have dad write his info in… but you still CAN’T mail this application. Do get a real paper application you must call 1-800-4FED AID to have them mail you one.
